Want to feel more connected to the divine? Give these ideas a try!

1. Meditate - Even if it's only for a minute (try this one-minute breathing meditation). Meditation helps quiet the mind and allows the body to relax. When we are in a relaxed state we are more open to receiving divine inspiration.
2. Pray - Prayer is a form of dialogue with the divine. The idea is to acknowledge that something larger than the self, exists. There are many forms of prayer and many names for the animating force of the universe. God, Goddess, Buddha, Jesus, Allah, Muhammad, Christ-consciousness, Oneness, Universe, Source, Chi, Qi, etc. Every relationship requires communication, dialogue. When we open a dialogue we create an opportunity for greater intimacy and sharing between ourselves and the divine. Speak to the divine like you would speak to a dear friend, a person you respect, a person you love. Share your struggles and victories, your tears and your laughter.
3. Practice Gratitude - Find things to be grateful for each day. Gratitude keeps the heart soft. A soft heart is a place where spirit can be nurtured. A hard heart makes it more difficult for the spirit to grow.
4. Be Kind - Being kind is a superpower. You get to exercise divine grace when you are kind. Kindness is a gift that you can give to others and give to yourself. Who isn't for the world being a kinder place? Start within and let it pour out.
5. Serve/Care for someone other than yourself - This is one of the fastest ways to tap into our spiritual nature as human beings. Find someone that you can help and help them. How can you make someone's day brighter/easier? When we are in service of others, we get to experience the generous aspect of the divine.
6. Get Out in Nature - Being out in nature allows the body and the mind to sync with natural rhythms. As we get in-sync with nature, we get in-sync with spirit. Nature allows us to reflect upon ourselves in relationship to the greater environment. Nature reveals the truth that all things are connected and can help us see our relationship to the web of life.
7.Journal - Writing is good for the soul. When we are able to pour our internal contents out onto the page, we purge, process and eliminate, that which no longer serves us. We define what is working for us. We make room for what is serving us to grow and we make room to receive new insights.
8. Create - Make something. Get creative. Creativity is a channel of the divine. Open your channel, see what happens. Creating requires being in "flow". Creativity is an invitation to play. You can play while preparing meals, folding laundry, even walking down the street. Turning mundane activities into games can liberate us from the doldrums of our everyday responsibilities. A mindset of play is ripe soil for opportunity.
9. Self Love - Look in the mirror. Take time to acknowledge your own existence. Tell yourself how awesome you are and how much you love yourself, say, " I love you." This exercise can get weird! Sometimes this exercise reveals how uncomfortable we feel within ourselves. Any discomfort provides information about what we need to work on.
10. Dance - Get your groove on. Music has vibration and so does spirit. Everything in life vibrates at a certain frequency. Find music that really turns you on, uplifts you (raises your frequency) and gets you moving. Then dance your heart out. After you've shaken a tail feather, notice how you feel. It's divine.
11. Detox - Clean up your act. Take a personal inventory of what is working in your favor and what is putting a damper on your success. A lot of the time we have toxic relationships, toxic habits, toxic thoughts, etc., that operate as self-imposed roadblocks. The keyword is self-imposed. That means that you have an opportunity to rid yourself of that shit, to change your patterns, relationships, and decisions. Imagine what would happen in your life if you were to ditch even a small amount of toxicity. Say goodbye to toxic choices and take a giant leap forward on your path of spiritual self-discovery.
