4 Spiritual Reads To Grow Your Perspective

Updated: Feb 2, 2022

On my spiritual journey as a human, I have read a lot of books. Below are four of my favorite reads. These books are great for those just starting out on their journey of spiritual self-discovery, as well as those who have been on the road for a while.

“Love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation” - The Prophet

The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran

This is one of my all times faves.  The Prophet is about a man who has waited his entire life for a ship to return him to his native land. One day after many years, the ship finally arrives and it comes time to say goodbye to the community he has lived with. As he is leaving he is asked to share a few words. What he shares is poetic and poignant wisdom. Beautifully written, rich in imagery, this book will warm your heart and feed your soul.

"It's the possibility of a dream coming true that makes life interesting." - The Alchemist

The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho's work is easy to read and enthralling. The Alchemist is a wonderful parable about a young man's search for buried treasure and the journey he goes on to find it.  A book that highlights the internal strength and struggle of being human and the rewards that await us when we live from the heart.

“Our body is just a vehicle for us while we’re here. It is our soul and our spirit that last forever.” -Many lives, Many Masters

Many lives, Many Masters, Brian Weiss

A great book if you like to explore past lives, reincarnation, relationships, and karma. Brian Weiss is a renowned psychiatrist and hypnotherapist, who specializes in Past Life Regression therapy. His books mainly discuss his experiences with his patients. His patient stories helped me to see interpersonal dynamics in a whole new way.  An introduction into the relationships between soul contracts, soul lessons, sacrifice, success, and love.

“Use your good common sense. Is anger useful? If you get angry at someone, the result is good neither for you nor for the other person. Nothing helpful comes of it. In the end, anger does not harm others; it hurts yourself.” - How to Expand Love

How to Expand Love, The Dalai Lama

Who doesn't like the Dalai Lama?! Words from the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. A good choice for those wanting to expand their capacity to love. Thought-provoking and heart-engaging, it is full of helpful tips, and exercises that will help you cultivate greater compassion and love.

I hope you enjoy these reads as much I do. If you want to purchase any of these books, click on the images above. As always I love to hear from you, feel free to comment below or drop me a line at safespacehealingarts@gmail.com and let me know what your favorite spiritual reads are.
